Interested in joining the board?

The Baker-Butler PTO board has a unique structure. You'll notice each position has two people, one acting as primary and the other acting as co. Each person has signed on for a two year commitment. Their first year is spent in the co position where they learn the ropes and are trained by the primary. In their second year they act as the primary and begin training their new co. In this way we maintain our institutional knowledge, no one is ever solely responsible for their role or working alone, and there is breathing room when necessary. Elections for new co positions are held every Spring at one of our general meetings. If you think you may be interested please reach out to any current board member and they would be happy to speak with you!

You can learn more about how our board functions and the details of the PTO by following the link below and reading our current by-laws.

Where does our money go?

As a 501c3 Non-Profit every dollar we raise goes directly back to the school, students, and teachers. This can look like anything from additional field trips, providing additional classroom supplies, or scholarships to name just a few.

Over the course of the summer your PTO board works diligently to create a budget for the upcoming year to present at the first general meeting in the fall. It is at this meeting that any members present have the opportunity to ask questions or bring up concerns before voting to approve the budget. At times throughout the year it may be necessary for special votes to be held to change that budget and those happen during general meetings.

To see budgets from previous years click on the link below. This years budget will be added once it is voted on at the first general meeting.
